A Born Leader

What does it truly mean to be a born leader? This message takes us deep into that question, revealing that genuine leadership is inseparable from genuine followership. Drawing from Paul's letter to Timothy in 2 Timothy chapter 1, we discover that the most powerful thing a leader can do is attach themselves to a lineage greater than their own name or reputation. Paul's tender address of Timothy as 'my beloved son' opens a window into what authentic mentorship looks like — not a transactional exchange, but a relationship forged through shared suffering, consistent accountability, and sincere faith. The spiritual insight here is striking: sonship is not simply a title we claim, but a posture we live. Romans 8 reminds us that those who are led by the Spirit are the sons and daughters of God, and the Spirit himself confirms it from the inside. We are challenged to ask ourselves whether we have truly entered into that adoption, exchanging what was for what should be, and whether we are connected to voices here on earth that reflect and reinforce that identity. The treasure entrusted to each of us is real, and the world is waiting for us to stop hiding it behind fear, pride, or the wrong voices.
