Money Isn't a Master
This powerful message challenges us to examine our relationship with money and resources through a spiritual lens. Drawing from Matthew 6:19-24, we're reminded that no one can serve two masters - we cannot serve both God and wealth. The central question becomes: what do our exerted efforts reveal about who we truly serve? The good life isn't about accumulating riches or living in luxury, but about having the resources to fulfill God's calling on our lives without hesitation. We're called to store up treasures in heaven while wisely stewarding our earthly resources, understanding that money is a tool, not a master. The message beautifully illustrates this through the metaphor of a tool shed - each of us needs different tools for the unique projects God has assigned us. When we love having money rather than loving money itself, we position ourselves to respond immediately to God's prompting, whether that's supporting a struggling student, helping someone in recovery, or contributing to kingdom work. The transformation begins when we start asking God how to allocate our resources rather than simply paying bills and spending what remains. This shift from financial stress to financial stewardship opens the door to experiencing true abundance - having all sufficiency in all things to participate in every good work God places before us.
